Chicago - Route 66 journey begins

Yesterday we flew to Chicago to begin our holiday in the USA. Chicago was cold, wet and windy.
This morning the weather was still cold but at least the rain had gone. We started our Route 66 journey in traditional style with breakfast at Lou Mitchells, a traditional Route 66 restaurant and landmark.

This is my breakfast - a waffle with cooked apple and whipped cream - and yes it was as big as it looks in the photo.
Chicago was cold and grey but this photo gives a flavour of the city.
After breakfast we visited the Museum of Contempory Art which was very interesting with a wonderful gift shop. Admission is free on Tuesdays which was great, shame it cost $17 to park the car!!Posted by Picasa

Hope the weather cheers up abit.
Don't eat too many huge meals, you'll only regret it when you get back, joking.
Keep blogging.
