St Louis Missouri

We started our day in St Louis with a visit to a museum. Opposite the museum was the baseball stadium of the St Louis Cardinals.

Some of the sculptures outside with the iconic Gateway Arch in the background.
Then we moved to the Blueberry Hill pub and restaurant in the centre of St Louis. One of the reasons this is famous is because it is the venue where Chuck Berry, a famous resident of St Louis plays regularly.

If you look carefully at the sign it says that Chuck Berry is playing next Wednesday.

Ted Drewes Frozen Custard shop is a Route 66 landmark. We had the regular size which was about the size of a Ben and Jerry's carton! It was like very sweet, thick ice cream - very delicious but full of calories! There is a constant stream of customers as you can see in the photo.

We left St Louis this afternoon and headed into Missouri on Route 66. The final photo is another of those wacky roadside attractions - the world's biggest rocking chair!

I do like seeing America through your eyes (not American) it seems more personable and you can see the whackiness of the place.
